Fairy fort in Carrigagulla, County Cork: a rough circular earthwork, 28 metres east-west and 26 metres north-south, on the west bank of River Laney. Its bank rises 1.6 metres inside and 1.3 metres outside; elsewhere a 2.3-metre scarp and thin inner lip complete the ring. A 3.4-metre gap faces south-south-east, and stones at the east base may be remains of a facing. The interior is raised on the southwest to compensate for the hillslope, while east-west cultivation ridges cross it. It stands in rough grazing among rugged hills, a small defended or occupied place made visible still by soil, scarps and repeated use.

H 1.3m) WNW->SE; scarp (H c. 2.3m) with slight internal lip (H 0.1m) elsewhere. Entrance (Wth 3.4m) to SSE; stones at base of bank on E side may be remains of facing.
