Two earthen rings still stand in Cappananty pasture, their broken edges worn smooth by centuries of rain and forgotten feet. The gap in the outer bank aligns with a missing section of the inner ring, suggesting a deliberate entrance rather than careless decay. People may have entered through that opening to tend fires, store grain or shelter from storms, while fairies occupied the same space in human memory. The fort remains neither fully explained nor fully dead, holding both histories inside its circular walls.

Atop low rise in low-lying gently undulating pasture. Circular area (45m N-S; 46m E-W) enclosed by two concentric earthen banks with intervening fosse (Wth 1.7m), and with slight trace of external fosse (D c. 0.1m; Wth 1.8m) ENE->E and NW. Inner bank (int. H 0.7m; ext. H 1.6m), best preserved at WNW, worn down to scarp-like edge N->SSW. Outer bank (int. H 1.6m; ext. H 1.9m), best preserved along SW arc, is much denuded at NNW, NE and SSE; break in bank at NE (Wth 3m) matched by denuded section of inner bank. Interior under pasture with gradual dip down into E quadrant and slight dip towards centre. Bushes and briars mask enclosing banks along SW arc.
