Fairy forts fool serious people because they hide human tools inside circular dreams. Caherdrinny keeps a narrow gap, a shallow ditch and a standing sandstone block that invite touching, memory and imagination. The measurement is small enough to walk around before dusk. The meaning grows larger when human life is allowed back inside the circle.

In pasture, on gentle N-facing slope to N of Caherdrinny Hill. Circular area (28m E-W; 27.5m N-S) enclosed by earth and stone bank (max. int. H 1.4m); external fosse (D 1m) SE->NW. Break (Wth 9m) in bank to NE. Stumps of trees remain on bank. Interior given saucer-shaped profile due to gentle slope of inner face of bank; upright sandstone block (H 0.7m) noted at foot of bank to SE.
