Fairy fort in Buavanagh: a 34-metre earthen ring on a gentle slope near Buavanagh House, with two narrow breaks and a shallow outside ditch. Now trees grow inside the bank and pasture surrounds it, but the shape still reads as a made place, not a heap of soil. People may have lived there, excluded others at the gaps, or left it for the fairies when Christian fields took over.

In pasture, on gentle SSW-facing slope, c. 350m NW of Buavanagh House. Circular area (34.1m N-S; 33.9m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 0.5m); external fosse (D 0.75m) W->ESE. Break in bank to SSE (Wth 2.8m) and NNW (Wth 3m). Interior and bank planted with deciduous trees. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
