Fairy forts are earthen rings where people once lived or kept animals, not homes for spirits. This one in Brackagh sits on a drumlin ridge in County Monaghan, marked by a curved bank and a faint circular shadow in the soil. It is small enough to walk around in minutes, yet old enough to have watched fields change from pasture to crop and back again. The ring does not need belief to be strange; it only needs time.

Located just off the summit and on the SE-facing spine of a small NW-SE drumlin ridge. The cropmark of a circular feature (diam. c. 30m) was visible in a root crop as a band of weeds, and the perimeter at S could be incorporated in a curving field bank.
