Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Ben Beg

Ben Beg holds a shallow circular scar thirty metres wide, its earth lip worn smooth by centuries of grass and forgetting. The name fairy fort suggests something hidden or forbidden, yet the shape remains plain enough to walk beside. Children were buried inside the eastern curve, their small bodies returned to the same ridge where adults once lived or worked. The fort no longer stands proud, but it still marks the difference between ordinary ground and a place set apart for life, death and memory.
