Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Bellanurly is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Bellanurly, County Sligo, Ireland. It is a slightly raised circular area thirty-seven metres across, enclosed by a low broad earth bank four-point-four metres wide and zero-point-four-five metres high internally. A fosse two-point-five metres wide and zero-point-five metre deep runs along the external foot of the bank. Coniferous trees now occupy the western interior, slightly damaging the bank and infilling part of the fosse, while modern field drains connect to the ditch at several points.
Situated on a slight S-facing slope, in gently undulating pasture. Slightly raised circular area (diam. 37m) enclosed by a low broad bank of earth (Wth 4.4m; int. H 0.45m). At the external foot of the bank is a fosse (Wth 2.5m; D 0.5m). A plantation of 25 year old coniferous trees encroaches into the W side of the interior causing slight damage to the bank and infilling the fosse WSW-NW. Modern field drains link to the fosse at NW, SE and at SW and the fosse has been re-cut as a field drain NW-SW. A break (Wth 2.1m) in the bank at NNE marks the position of the original entrance.
