Bealkelly holds a earthen ringfort, a circular defence built by human hands yet named for fairy fort because local belief still lives there. The clay bank rises from the Clare field like a buried breath, marking a place where people lived, resisted or abandoned the world before memory failed. Its shape is simple, but the name warns that simplicity can hide a door.
