Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Baunoge

Fairy forts are not fantasy. They are human made, often medieval, and still standing. That is the whole trick. The fairies are the part people invented later because the shape resisted explanation. A ring of earth in a field asks the mind to complete it. Some rings held homes. Some rings held nothing but time. Baunoge gives the field its name and the field gives back a shape that may have been a doorway, a trap, or a child's climbing hill. The measurement is small. The life inside the circle is not.
