Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Barroe is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Barroe, County Sligo, Ireland. It occupies the northeast end of a broad ridge in undulating pasture, where a thirty-two-metre circular area remains enclosed by a five-metre-wide bank of earth and stone. A three-metre-wide fosse borders the external base on the northeast and southeast, although modern sheds and a yard now cover the missing section to the south. Livestock have worn the bank elsewhere, leaving the northeast and east edges as the clearest surviving profile.

Situated on NE end of a broad NE-SW orientated ridge, on a slight NNW-facing slope, in undulating pasture. Natural ground level slopes down sharply from the monument NW-N. Raised circular area (diam. 32m) enclosed by a broad flat-topped bank of earth and stone (Wth 5m; int. H 0.4m. At the external base of the bank is a fosse (Wth 3.2m; D 0.3m). The bank is best preserved NNE-E, where it has a broad flat-topped profile, being very denuded by livestock elsewhere. The fosse encloses the site NNE-SE and is absent elsewhere. Modern sheds and a yard area have been built on the line of the absent fosse SE-S. The original entrance to the site is not recognisable. There is a modern break (Wth 2.4m) in the bank at NW with an oval modern hollow (dims 4.5m NW-SE; 2m NE-SW; D 0.3m) in the interior immediately inside it. Compiled by: Patrick F.
