Barloughra holds a circular earthen fort, the kind of place where ordinary people may have lived before fairy tales took it over. The clay bank still stands against the sky, marking a boundary between the known world and the hidden one. People may have built it to keep out rain, wolves or invaders, but the story says it belongs to fairies, which means it keeps out more than flesh and bone.
