Fairy fort in Ballytrasna, County Galway: a subcircular earthen ringfort, 36m east-west and 33m north-south, set on a south-facing grassland slope. Two banks and a between-fosse still mark it, though a field wall covers the north edge and modern gaps break the line. It belongs with two neighbouring ringforts, one forty metres north and another three hundred metres northwest, suggesting a small cluster of occupied or claimed land rather than a lonely marker. The name fairy fort may be local story more than fact, yet it fits the place: ordinary earth shaped into a room large enough for people, animals and argument.

On a S-facing slope in undulating grassland. Subcircular rath (E-W 36m, N-S 33m), in fair condition, defined by two banks and an intervening fosse. The outer bank survives from S to W. A field wall overlies the monument at N. Several gaps appear modern, A ringfort (GA029-023----) lies c. 40m to N, and a second (GA029-025----) lies c. 300m to NW.
