Fairy fort in Ballyneale: a 26m earthen ring on an east-facing slope, its scarped edge standing 2.75m high beside a shallow fosse. Overgrowth masks most of the enclosure, leaving only the south side open to view. The interior is level, crowded with nettles and young trees, while cattle graze just beyond the fence. Whatever lived there is no longer named, but the shape still holds its ground against grass, water and forgetting.

In pasture, on gentle E-facing slope in generally undulating terrain. Circular area (diam. 26m) defined by scarped edge (H 2.75m; Wth 6m) with external fosse (Wth 2.4m; D 1.45m). Enclosing element is masked by dense overgrowth and only accessible along S side. Enclosure is fenced off from adjacent pasture field SE->NW and skirted by field boundary along E side. Fosse is best preserved along W side, but shallows and narrows along S arc (Wth 1.25m; D 0.45m). Level interior, covered with nettles, has recently been planted with deciduous trees along verges.
