Mortons and others may have crowded the Ferta valley during the medieval period, yet no exact owner or event is recorded for this particular ring. The earth bank still stands twenty-three centimetres wide above pasture, while a shallow ditch fades beside it and a gap faces the descending land. That much is visible; the rest belongs to imagination.

Internal diam. 22.5m N-S, 24m E-W This roughly circular univallate rath is located in gently sloping pastureland just above a sharp drop to the Ferta river at S. The site commands extensive views to S along the river valley. Faint traces of a shallow external fosse, measuring 4m wide and .3m deep, are discernable at NW and S. The earthen enclosing bank is modified and is virtually levelled in the SE sector; elsewhere intermittent traces of drystone facing occur along its inner flank. The bank measures 1.5m high externally, 1.4m high internally and is 2.3m wide. A gap at SW may mark the original entrance. A second gap at NE appears to be of recent origin.
