Fairy forts are not for people. They are for the owners of the ground, and people must leave them alone. The fort in Ballynagittagh is a circular rath, thirty-seven metres across, with two banks and a ditch between them. It stands in grassland, still shaped like a room nobody entered for years. The gap at the north may be its door, or it may be the place where the field swallowed the edge. Either way, the fort keeps its shape because it is not empty. It is waiting to be seen as a house, not a hole.

In grassland. Circular rath (D 37m), in fair condition, defined by two banks and an intervening fosse. The outer bank is present from SSE through W to N, and is overlain by a field boundary from NW to N. A gap at N may be original. There is a CBG (GA015-006001-) within the interior.
