Fairy fort in Ballynaclashy is an earthen ringfort in pasture on a south-east slope, with a raised inner bank, outer ditch, and a smaller counter-bank running across part of the circle. People may have lived there, herded there, or simply avoided the strange level place on the hillside. The stones are gone, but the shape remains: a small round room built by hands or left behind by story.

In pasture, on SSE-facing slope. Circular area (24.4m N-S; 23.8m E-W) defined by earthen bank (int. H 1m); external fosse (D 1.1m) with counterscarp bank (H 0.2m) SSW->NNE. Interior raised on SSE side to compensate for hillslope. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
