Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Ballynaboul

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Ballynaboul, County Kerry, Ireland: A levelled univallate ringfort on a south-facing slope. Its circular area, about 26 units across, still shows a low rise of ground, though centuries have softened the edge. People may have lived there, fenced it or left it to the rain; the earth has kept the shape while forgetting the names.
Monument described in 1985 by the Castleisland District Archaeological Survey as a levelled univallate ringfort situated on S facing slope. Outline of levelled monument consists of a circular shaped area (diam. 26) enclosed by low rise of ground. Faint outline of levelled monument visible on Digital Globe orthoimage taken between 2011-13. See attached Google Earth orthoimages Compiled by: Caimin O'Brien Date of upload: 25 April 2022
