Fairy fort in Ballymacoo: earthen ringfort, diameter thirty metres, beside Owennagearagh River in County Cork. Its western arc still stands, earthen bank topped with stone, folded into a field fence. People walked past it for generations, some calling it a fairy fort because boundary markers often hide human age beneath marvel.

In pasture, c. 150m E of Owennagearagh River. Hachured as circular enclosure (diam. c. 30m) on 1842 OS 6-inch map; northern arc survives on 1903 and 1938 OS 6-inch maps. Arc (C 26m) formed by earthen bank (H 1.25m) and topped by stone wall survives W->ESE, incorporated into field fence system.
