What is recorded here
Fairy fort in Ballylinane, County Limerick: a 37m circular rath with a 2.3m high outer bank and a 6m wide fosse, sitting in level dry pasture. A farm trackway still skirts its outside edge, and recent clearing piled scrub along parts of the bank. The gap at the south-southwest is new, but the shape is old enough to belong beneath every story people have invented about it.
In level dry pasture. Circular area (diam. 37m) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 0.95m; ext. H 2.3m) with external fosse (D 2.3m; Wth 6m). Gap (Wth c. 6m) in bank at SSW is recent. Farm trackway skirts along outside edge of fosse NNE->SW. Interior recently cleared of scrub overgrowth which is now piled up along parts of bank.
