Fairy fort in Ballylinane, County Limerick: a 63 m earthen ring with a broken bank and shallow outer ditch, now crossed by a farm track and grazed as pasture. The name suggests people once refused to explain it, preferring fairy laughter to human history. The shape suggests something else: a boundary made deliberate, large enough to enter, mark enough to remember.

In level, slightly damp pasture. Circular area (diam. 63m) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 1.95m; ext. H 2.75m) with external fosse (D 0.45m; Wth 1m). Wide breaks in bank at NE and SW allow farm trackway to cross interior. Fosse infilled WNW->NNW. Interior level and under pasture.
