Ballykealy Castle still stands, but the circular fort beside it has mostly vanished. Men levelled the earth and built a fieldbank through the remains, erasing the shape that marked human life before the castle rose. What is left is a hidden line in the soil, a ghost of a wall buried under grass and forgetting.

Situated SE of Ballykealy Castle (KE014-080----), this circular enclosure is marked on the 1842 and 1916 OS maps. However, today this site has been levelled, except for a small section of the S sector which has been incorporated into a fieldbank running E-W. The above description is derived from C.
