Situated on a break in a W-facing slope in pastureland. Indicated on the 1st (1843) ed. OS 6-inch map as an irregular-shaped enclosure, with a stream forming the S side. A rectangular enclosure (dims. c. 60m NW-SE; c. 45m NE-SW), defined by a low, narrow bank (Wth 1.2m; ext. H 0.72m) which only survives in the W half and is incorporated in a hedgerow. A trench is cut immediately inside portion of the surviving bank and is partly revetted with stone. This site is severely damaged and has been used as a refuse dump in the past and is currently the burial ground for an adjacent dog pound. The interior ground level has risen by c. 1.5m as a result of dumping. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary.
