Fairy forts are not fairy forts. They are human ringforts, misnamed later. This is one of them: a circular earthworks in pasture, with a bank, a ditch, and a gap for entry. The gap faces south. The ditch holds water. The bank has stones on top at one side, perhaps dumped there in haste or anger. A road passes nearby. A path leads to a house. The fort sits between them, neither forgotten nor celebrated. It is a boundary marker made flesh, a room built for people who stopped coming. The fairies came later, filling the vacancy with themselves.

In level pasture, immediately S of public road and W of avenue leading to dwelling. Roughly circular area (39.5m N-S; 37.5m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 0.25m; ext. H 1.05m) with external fosse (D 0.6m; Wth 1.2m). Bank, heavily masked by vegetation overgrowth, has stones dumped along top at W. Waterlogged fosse narrows where avenue kinks around outer edge E->SSE. Causeway entrance (Wth 3.2m) at S. Level interior under pasture.
