Marianne, the owner, kept a red-tipped arrow in the kitchen drawer and flew it at shadows before they touched her children. She never called it magic, only mother sense. When asked why she believed the fort was alive, she answered that it had answered her long before she learned its name.

This site does not appear on the 1841-42 OS map, but does appear on the later edition as a circular enclosure.
