Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Ballycullane Lower

Fairy fort in Ballycullane Lower is an earthen ringfort, an oval rath thirty-eight metres long and twenty-eight wide, holding two concentric banks four and a half metres apart in undulating pasture. The inner bank runs complete at seventy centimetres high, while the outer survives mostly from east to southwest, taller inside at ninety-five centimetres but thinner outside. People may have lived within those double walls before pasture covered the yard, yet the fairies keep the name and the shape remains clear enough to walk.
