What is recorded here

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Ballyconnell, knockroe (kiltartan By.) stands on a ridge summit in County Galway, Ireland. Its almost circular bank measures thirty-five metres east-west and thirty-four metres north-south, with a causewayed entrance gap twenty-four centimetres wide at the east-north-east. Local information describes a possible underground passage inside the fort, blocked about twenty years ago. The shape suggests people once built, entered and used the place before memory faded.
On the summit of a ridge. An almost circular rath (35m E-W; 34m N-S), in fair condition, defined by a bank and external fosse. There is a causewayed entrance gap (Wth 2.4m) at ENE.
