Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Ballyconnaught

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

Fairy forts are not the homes of little winged creatures but the abandoned farms and defensive rings of ordinary people who vanished before written history. The local name preserves the moment human memory failed, turning forgotten neighbours into magic simply because nobody remembered their names or deeds.
