Half a mile south-east of Ballybroman stands a vanished ringfort, marked on Victorian maps and visible in 1977 aerial photos before a dead horse prompted its total demolition. The landowner recalled a drystone passage beneath the earthworks, yet that chamber and the fort itself were scraped flat in a single act of practical despair. What remains is absence, a hollow where human hands shaped stone and soil, erased because one life ended inside the boundary.

This circular enclosure lies two fields SE of KE021-074----. Marked on the 1841-42 and 1898 OS maps, it also shows up quite clearly on the Geological Survey of Ireland's aerial photographs (1977). According to the landowner, a Man-made underground passage lay under this fort and was constructed of drystone walling. However, due to the death of a horse inside the fort, it and the Man-made underground passage (KE021-084001-) were completely levelled. The above description is derived from C. A fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Ballybroman, Rathkenny, is a circular early-medieval enclosure, likely dating to between the 5th and 10th centuries. It is associated with local folklore surrounding fairies and other supernatural beings, common in Irish tradition for such sites.
