Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Ballybroman

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

No stone or soil remains to mark the Ballybroman ringfort, yet it resisted forgetting long enough to appear on both the 1841 and 1898 maps. That absence is not emptiness; it is a shape of understanding that measurement cannot capture. The land keeps its own record, waiting for someone stopped enough to notice what is missing.
Situated W of KE021-075---- & KE021-081----, this circular enclosure is marked on the 1841-42 and 1898 OS maps. No surface trace survives today. The above description is derived from C. Toal, ‘North Kerry Archaeological Survey’. Dingle. Brandon in association with FAS Training and Employment Authority (1995), no. 726. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload: 2 August 2013

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
