Fairy fort in Ballybane, County Cork: a 35-metre earthen ring, two metres high, standing in tillage on level ground. Its bank was levelled for five metres to the south-south-east, perhaps for a gate, a path or a forgotten bargain. People may have lived inside, excluded others, or simply marked the edge of the known field. The flat land and solid bank still suggest a place set apart, even when its purpose has faded.

In tillage, on level ground. Roughly circular area (c. 35m NE-SW) enclosed by earthen bank (H 2m). Bank levelled to SSE for 5m.
