What is recorded here
Fairy forts are never ordinary. They are the hidden bones of the land, the places where the seen world thins and the unseen one leans through. Ballintubbrid once held one of these rings, a small circular fortress buried inside the marsh. The field is flat now, but the memory remains. The ground there does not forget. It waits for human life to become dense enough for the hidden shape to emerge again.
In level marshy pasture. Monument, depicted as embanked circular enclosure (diam. c. 30m) on 1924 OS 6-inch map, has been levelled. No trace of monument evident when inspected. Surrounding field boundaries have been removed.
