Fairy forts are not a separate kind of monument. They are ordinary ringforts, fossil records of human life that became unnamed when the people and traditions that explained them disappeared. The fairies entered later as a placeholder for the forgotten.
In level pasture. Circular area (39.2m N-S; 39m E-W) defined by a scarped edge (H 1.3m; Wth 3.6m). Interior is accessed by farm machinery via ramps across scarped edge at W and NE. Site totally enclosed by field boundary running 4m outside base of scarp. Interior level, dry and clear of overgrowth Compiled by: Denis Power Date of upload: 26 August 2011
