What is recorded here

No human has lived there for a long time. The fairies did not leave when the people left. They are still there. They are waiting for the field to stop being worked. When the tractors leave and the soil cools, the ring closes. What goes inside the ring does not come back the same. Some things return changed. Some things do not return at all. The fairies do not harm out of cruelty. They collect what they want. They want memory, heat and life. They give back nothing. That is why the ring is empty. It is not abandoned. It is patient.

In tillage, atop hill. Depicted as hachured circular enclosure on 1842 OS 6-inch map; as hachured bivallate circular enclosure (diam. c. 25m) on 1905 and 1937 OS 6-inch maps. Inaccessible due to overgrowth; interior defined by two earthen banks (inner bank: H 1.75m; outer bank: H 2.1m) with intervening fosse. Break (Wth 1.2m) in bank to N; blocked with stones.
