Fairy forts are human ringforts misnamed by modern imagination. This is one: a circular enclosure in Ballincrossig, County Kerry, marked on the 1841-42 and 1916 OS maps, now reduced to a faint aerial trace rather than a visible ridge. The fields changed, the soil shifted, and the boundary slipped from sight. What remains is a ghost shape in the land, waiting for someone to stop calling it fairy and remember it as human.

This circular enclosure is marked on the 1841-42 and 1916 OS maps, and it lies three fields NE of KE015-018----. A slight trace can also be picked up on the Geological Survey of Ireland's aerial photographs (1974), but no surface trace can be seen today. The above description is derived from C.
