Fairy fort in Ballincrossig, drommartin: a circular earthen ringfort, partly cut by a fieldbank on old maps and still visible today. It stood in an open field, human-made and familiar, yet local names gave it to fairy folk because its purpose resisted explanation. People may have lived, stored grain or marked ownership there before forgetting the details. The earth kept its shape while memory thinned, turning a practical home into a mysterious fairy fort.

This site lies about 30m SE of KE015-024---- in the same field. It appears on the 1841-42 OS map as a circular enclosure which has been slightly cut to the N through E to SE by a fieldbank. On the 1916 map only a slight semi-circular enclosure is marked and, though much levelled, it is still distinguishable today. The above description is derived from C.
