Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Ballincar is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Ballincar, County Sligo, Ireland. The raised circular area measures eighteen metres across and stands behind an earth and stone scarp reaching two point seven five metres high. A two-metre-wide ramp at the east southeast marks the original entrance, while footings or a bank line the top of the scarped edge from southwest to northwest. A modern track cut from northwest to north northeast removed part of the site edge, and another rath in Cregg townland lies one hundred metres to the west.

Situated on a slight rise in gently undulating, lightly wooded, pasture overlooking a stream 20m to the N. Another rath (SL008-129---), in Cregg townland, is located 100m to the W. Views are good to excellent in all directions. Raised roughly circular area (diam. 18m) enclosed by an earth and stone scarp (ext. H 2.75m). From NW-NNE the edge of the site has been removed by a deeply cut modern ENE-WSW orientated track. What appears to be the footings of a wall (Wth 1.05m; int. H 0.1m) or a bank lie along the top of the scarped edge SW-NW. A ramp (Wth 2m) through the scarped edge at ESE marks the position of the original entrance. Compiled by: Patrick F.
