What is recorded here
No human memory reaches the fort beneath the house. Forgetting is not the same as vacancy. The distinction belongs in the chamber, not in the claim that the chamber is complete.
A modern dwelling occurs on the site of a circular enclosure marked at this location on the OS maps. The site is not remembered locally.
The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. Sheehan (compilers), 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Cork University Press (1996), no. 780. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
