Arderry holds a forgotten ring of earth beside a stream, marked Fort on old surveys but lost beneath dense green growth. The land lies low and damp, fitting a place where human hands built before memory faded. It may have sheltered people, excluded strangers or simply marked a boundary nobody remembers. The vegetation has reclaimed the work, turning a made shape back into an ordinary hollow.

Marked 'Fort' on OS 1836 and 1876 eds. Situated in low-lying ground close to a stream. Densely overgrown with vegetation rendering inspection impossible. A fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Arderry is a likely early-medieval circular earthwork, commonly associated with ancient Irish settlements or ritual sites. Local folklore often links such forts to the faé or supernatural beings, with traditions of hidden entrances to the Otherworld.
