By 1834, a circular embankment thirty metres wide held the highest point on the western drumlin ridge, though grass and scrub have since erased every trace of its bank. The fort may have served as a boundary marker, a seasonal shelter or a place of refuge, but its original purpose has vanished with its shape. What remains is a flat field where the land once rose into a ring, preserving the possibility of human presence rather than the proof of it.

Located at the highest point towards the W end of an E-W drumlin ridge. It is depicted as a circular embanked enclosure (ext. diam. c. 30m) on the 1834 edition of the OS 6-inch map where it is described in gothic lettering as a ‘fort’ and as a curve in a field bank SE-W on the 1907 edition. It is now situated in a grass and scrub-covered field (dims c. 115m NW-SE; c. 20m NE-SW) but there is no archaeological feature visible at ground level.
