An Garrán holds a circular earthen ringfort with two banks and ditch, sunk into marshy ground beside the Milltown river. Its entrance remains uncertain beneath dense growth, while animal pens and a deep hole suggest a hidden passage beneath the mound. The fort belongs to the living landscape, not a display cabinet, and its owner still controls who may walk its causeway.

A roughly circular bivallate rath situated in level, marshy ground, on the floor of the valley of the Milltown river. The survey team were refused access to the site and the following account is based on a very brief and cursory examination. The defences consist of 2 banks and fosses, now densely overgrown. There is a causeway across the outer fosse at S but it was not clear whether or not this was the entrance to the site. There are remains of animal pens in the interior and also a large hole which may mark the location of a Man-made underground passage. The above description is derived from J.
