Half a metre high and eight metres wide, the earthen bank of Ahascra still marks a circle thirty metres across. Field banks and a drain have swallowed its southern edge, yet the northern curve remains clear enough to walk. The gaps at northeast and southwest invite entry rather than keep out, suggesting the fort served life instead of warfare.

Internal diameter 35.2m N-S, 30.8m E-W Situated in the corner of a field, this univallate rath has been incorporated into fieldbanks to the S and E. These, and a drain dug along the S side, have distorted the rath somewhat. This sub-circular area is enclosed by an earthen bank which is very low and wide, especially N through W to SW; it is c 8m wide and c .5m high.
