Mud and memory have swallowed the entrance, leaving only a shallow scar in the grass where a life once turned. The fort is small enough to walk across in a breath, yet it holds the shape of every person who ever stood inside it. Aghnagollop keeps its secrets in water and soil, not stone. What is missing has not stopped being present.

Situated in a fairly low-lying position with a small NE-SW stream just to the SE. This is a grass-covered circular area (diam. 20.2m E-W; 18.5m N-S) defined by a scarp (H 0.6m at N to 1.05m E-S) with some bushes. There is no visible fosse or identifiable original entrance.
