Aghatubrid More holds a circular earthen ring, twenty-five metres across and nearly two metres high, sitting on a north-facing slope above Glandore Harbour. Hawthorn bushes now strangle the bank and interior, turning a human-made boundary into a tangled green knot. The south side remains lower because the builders leaned the rampart against the rising land, a practical choice that still shapes the silhouette. People may have lived inside before the trees reclaimed the space, but the fort no longer answers to human names. It belongs to the hill, the harbour light and the patience of thorns.
In pasture, on N-facing slope, E of Glandore Harbour. Roughly circular area (diam. c. 25m) enclosed by earthen bank (H 1.7m). Bank lower on upslope (S). Interior and bank heavily overgrown with hawthorn bushes.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 1: West Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1992). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.

A fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Aghatubrid More is a likely early-medieval defensive or agricultural site, characterized by a circular earthen bank enclosing a roughly 25m diameter area. Local folklore may associate it with supernatural beings, as suggested by the name "fairy fort," though specific traditions are not recorded.
