Fairy forts are earthen rings people built and used, not homes for invisible creatures. This is one of them: a levelled circular bank in pasture at Abbeymahon, about twenty-eight metres across, sitting on a north-facing slope with a clear view northeast and northwest. The name is local legend layered on a human dwelling; the shape and position are the fact.

In pasture on N-facing slope; commands view to NE and NW. Bank levelled; circular area (28.1m E-W; 25m N-S) now defined by low scarp (H 0.4m).
