What is recorded here

Fairy Hill in Balloo, County Antrim, still carries the old name though no human hand has marked its edge for centuries. The ground may have swallowed a village, a tomb or a child’s buried jar, yet the fairies kept the hill for themselves. People forgot the shape of what stood there, but they never stopped believing the hill was occupied.

The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as FAIR SITE: FAIRY HILL. Recorded period: UNCERTAIN. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.
