Archaeological testing (99E0665) c. 50m W of burial ground (WA031-044002-) produced evidence of medieval activity in a metalled surface and a pit with fragments of crucibles and a sherd of slipware, but the area was severely distubed by later clay-pits. (Pollock 2002e)
