Excavation exposed a small rectangular structure and scattered hearths on an east-facing Kilkenny pasture in 2007, beside a larger ceremonial and habitation site stretching from the Bronze Age to the early medieval period. The road worked past the place, but the marks remained: three post-holes, two possible slot-trenches, pits, a figure-of-eight kiln, and the ghost of repeated fire. What looked like disposal may have been memory, changing the shape of the land and the minds of the people around it.

On a slight E-facing slope in pasture. Excavated in 2007 in advance of the N9/N10 Kilcullen to Waterford road scheme (Licence no. E3627). A possible structure comprising a rectangular area (4m x 2m) defined by three post-holes and two adjacent possible slot-trenches. A number of isolated pits and hearths were also found. The pits and hearths may be associated with a large ceremonial and habitation site dating from the Bronze Age to the early medieval period (KK031-075---- to KK031-088----) that lay immediately to the S.
