Excavation

Discovered during excavations in Ballinaspig More in 2002 in advance of the construction of the N22 Ballincollig Bypass. Excavation revealed a large number of pits and post-holes which were visible over an area of 20m sq. and situated to the SW of a Bronze Age building (CO073-114----). The pits and post-holes contained occupational debris in the form of dark, rich soils with numerous sherds of Bronze Age pottery and stone tools present.
