Enclosure in Teeromoyle

This enclosure, not marked on the OS maps, is located on the banks of the Ferta river on the SW slopes of Coomacarrea mountain. The N sector of the site appears to have eroded into the river, and what remains is a semicircular band of stone collapse, c. .9m wide and .9m high. The site has an internal diameter of 14m, and its interior is raised .5m above external ground level. In its immediate vicinity are a number of possibly contemporary walls (KE070-093001-). These run beneath peat at intervals, and range up to .5m in height above the peat surface. They are composed of upright slabs, set at right angles to the axes of the walls.
