What is recorded here
Twenty-five metres southwest of a ruined hut, a sub-circular stone wall still stands on the rough mountain grazing of Shehy Beg. Its southern edge holds firm with upright slabs while the rest has collapsed into the earth, framing a slightly domed interior that may have hidden a drainage channel or a central feature now lost. The enclosure faces the boggy uplands to the east, waiting for someone to explain why human hands arranged those stones against the wild sky.
This enclosure was reported to the Archaeological Survey of Ireland by Tony Miller on 28th January 2013. He describes it as follows: "This enclosure is c. 25m southwest of the hut site already described (CO093-098----) and lies to the south of the same large rock outcrop. It is sub-circular in shape measuring c. 11m east-west and c. 9m north-south internally. The containing walls survive to a height of c. 1m and are in a collapsed state apart from the southern section, which is constructed of contiguous upright slabs of rock. It is sited in an area of rough mountain grazing and looks out over the boggy uplands to the east. The interior of this enclosure appears slightly domed, possibly created either by a drainage feature inside the walls or by a feature in the centre of the enclosure. In the south west quadrant of the enclosure there is a rough line of partially buried stones indicating another possible feature."
